Towns Server Guide
This server includes several custom plugins. This guide explains how they work and what to watch out for.
Towns Plugin
To get started, view all commands in-game with /towns help.
- After creating a town, set your spawn within 60 minutes or the town will be deleted.
- Setting town spawn places a lodestone. This is your town center and your main weak point.
- Your town must pay upkeep every 24 hours, so keep enough money in the town bank.
- Chests are not automatically protected. Use the locking plugin to secure them.
- Towns can be raided by other players and towns.
- When you claim land, you claim the chunk you are currently standing in.
Chest Locking
We use a custom version of CEV-API OminousChestLock.
How It Works
- Rename a trial key in an anvil (example:
ozChestKey). - Right-click a chest, barrel, or shulker box while holding that key to lock it.
- Only players holding a matching key can open the container.
- Locks are tied to key ID and name, not to player accounts, so keys can be stolen.
Lockpicking
- There are 4 types of lockpicks
- Rusty Lockpick
copper ingot + tripwire hook + stickOpen Chance: 10% - Normal Lockpick
iron ingot + tripwire hook + blaze rodOpen Chance: 25% - Silence Lockpick
normal lockpick + silence trim + echo shardOpen Chance: 40% - Lodestone Lockpick
netherite block + tripwire hook + lodestoneRaid Chance: 15% - Lockpicks have a chance to break on use.
- After too many failed attempts, you may be temporarily locked out.
- Failed lockpick attempts damage the player.
Town Raiding
- You can attempt a town raid using a Lodestone Lockpick.
- Right-click a town's lodestone (its spawn location) to start the raid.
- Online members of that town are alerted and can defend during the raid timer.
- If the raid succeeds, the defending town is removed.
- Its town bank balance is transferred to your town bank.
- Town chests remain locked and must still be picked open.
